Mrs. Fronie Jane South, age 73, a resident of Collier Road in Culleoka, passed away Friday at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. South will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points and Bro. Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Gibsonville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born in Maury County on December 10, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Ella Mae Sweeny Adams. She was the wife of the late P.A. Fitzgerald and the late Hubert South. She had worked for Lasko in Franklin and for River Mills as a seamstress, and then she enjoyed being a great homemaker. She was a member of Colonial Meadows Church of Christ.
She is survived by her sons: Charles Edward Fitzgerald of Columbia and Clay Kathy Fitzgerald of Goodsprings; step-daughters: Diane Christianson of LA, Pam Iliff and Mary Frances William Bryson, both of Columbia; grandchildren: Kimberly Dawn Fitzgerald of Forrest Park, GA, Charles Edward Fitzgerald II of Pulaski and James Edward Tally Fitzgerald of Williamsport; brother: James Monroe Adams of Culleoka; sister: Mattie Sue Hobby of Culleoka; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a step-daughter: Connie Keller and a brother: Andrew Jack Adams.
Pallbearers will be James Fitzgerald, Charles Edward Fitzgerald II, Ricky Hobby, James Hobby, Monroe Hobby and David Helton. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Hall, Sister Faye Dotson and the staff of Hospice Compassus.
