Frierson R. Craig, a cherished member of the Nashville, Tennessee community, passed away on March 2, 2024. Born on January 19, 1949, in Nashville, Tennessee, Frierson was one of three children born to the late John Craig and Jane Hall Craig.
Frierson's early education began at Burton Elementary and continued through Hillsboro High School, where he forged lifelong friendships that remained dear to him. He pursued higher education at Sewanee: The University of The South. Frierson's loyalty to his alma mater and his fellow alumni endured throughout his life.
Professionally, Frierson distinguished himself as the Vice President of Marketing with First American Bank, where his dedication and expertise left an indelible mark.
Frierson's life was characterized by his profound kindness and gentle demeanor. He had a heart that overflowed with love and concern for others, touching the lives of countless individuals with his selfless acts of generosity. His philanthropic spirit extended to various organizations, including Sewanee, Aquinas, the Second Harvest Food Bank, and several humane societies. Frierson's commitment to making the world a better place was a testament to his noble character and unwavering integrity.
Among his many passions, Frierson found immense joy in the companionship of dogs and the beauty of flowers. He was known for his affectionate nature and the loving care he provided to numerous canine companions throughout his life. His appreciation for the natural world was reflected in his fondness for cultivating landscapes adorned with vibrant blooms and countless hours hiking.
Frierson is preceded in death by his brother, John Craig, sister, Jane Craig, and his first wife, Suzanne Cunningham Craig. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Davich Craig; his brother-in-law: Sam (Robin) Goodman, and family members from the Craig & Cunningham family including many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law: Walt (Cookie) Cunningham, and sister-in-law: Pat Golab.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 12:00 PM in the Garden of Good Shepherd in Polk Memorial Gardens.
Frierson R. Craig's legacy of compassion, generosity, and love will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched with his kindness and grace.
