Fredia M. Giammara

Fredia Mae Giammara was born January 3, 1945 in Lawrence Co., TN, the daughter of the late John and Lorene Bailey Cassel. On August 13, 1979, Fredia married Michael A. Giammara and they made their home in Summertown. Fredia was a devoted and loving wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed reading and loved to collect the Department 56 North Pole Christmas Village. She was a communicant of St. Catherine Catholic Church.

Survivors in addition to Michael include two sons: Glenn Battle of Michigan and Dylan Giammara of Summertown; two brothers: Carl Ovalene Cassel and Larry Peggy Cassel, both of Michigan; two sisters: Linda Rob Russo and Connie Cassel, both of Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Fredia was preceded in death by one brother: J. L. Cassel.

Fredia passed away on Sunday, October 2, at her residence following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Father Clare Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in the Summertown Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
