Mr. Fred Jackson ?Jackie? Pullum, 74 , a resident of Pleasantwood Drive in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2006, surrounded by his family at Maury Regional Hospital
Funeral services for Mr. Pullum will be conducted Monday, February 20, 2006 at 11:00 am at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Brother Jim Walsh officiating. Entombment will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Military Honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4 :00 pm to 8 :00 pm at the funeral home.
The Morgan County, Alabama native was the son of the late Will and Annie Laura Adams Pullum and the husband of Joanola Parson Pullum. Mr. Pullum was a retired foreman at Monsanto Chemical Company and the National Guard. He was an avid reader , sign painter and carried the American Flag for Mule Day. He was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Donna Pullum of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Stephen Jennifer Pullum of Wilmington, N.C. and Paula Tim Barker of Mt. Pleasant, TN; grandchildren, Skyler Jackson Pullum, Maddison Leigh Pullum and Lindsey Brooke Pullum all of Wilmington, NC; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Pullum of Wyndotte, MI, Jean Bill Scharrer of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Ellen Doug Stanford of Athens, Al; two brothers-in-law, Jack Parson of Columbia, TN and Charles B. Marty Parson of Okeechobee, Florida; nieces and nephews, Barbara Inman of Knoxville, TN, David Pullum of Columbia, TN, Melissa Potts of Hampshire, TN, Roger Pullum, Wyndotte, MI, Wayne Scharrer and, Julie Scharrer both of Columbia, TN, Charlene Scharrer of Mt. Pleasant, TN. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Pullum, Leon Pullum and Guy Pullum; one brother-in-law, Mack Parson.
Pallbearers will be Layne Pullum, William ?Billy? Scharrer, Blake Parson, Brian Parson, Chris Stanford, Shannon Parson and Condley Parson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Jones, Hendley Edwards, Stephen Brooks, Dwight Lyles, Tony Grimes, Joe Fults, David Darker, Dr. Grant & Carey Barr, Dr. Thomas Farmer, Dr. Motaz Toban, Ladies of the Mt. Pleasant Library, Renal Care Group, Maury Regional Respiratory , William ?Bill? Dial, Roger Watts, members of the 473 rd support Battalion and retirees of Monsanto Chemical Company.
