Fred Allen Parham, 79 years old, passed away on April 22, 2013.
Mr. Parham was born on June 5, 1933 in Columbia, Tennessee. He was a man of character, who loved children and enjoyed his collections of guns, knives and toys. He especially liked toy trains and was a volunteer at the annual “Mule Day” event for many years, working with the miniature train rides for children. He was known as an excellent heavy equipment operator during his career working for Maury County and the State of Tennessee. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge 111 of Santa Fe, Tennessee for many years and enjoyed being a Mason and helping others. In his final years he resided at Signature Healthcare where he made friends and was a great storyteller. He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball and football.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents: Audrey Lee Parham and Annie Mae Pipkin Parham; brother: Maurice E. Parham; and sister: Margaret “Peggy” Roundtree. He is survived by his sister-in-law: Lyda C. Parham; nephew: Maurice Glenn (Jane) Parham; neice: Laurice Parham (Tom) Tanzilli; great-nieces: Ashley Parham and Tiara Tanzilli; great-nephews: Matthew Lee Parham and Anthony Lee “Rooster” (Jordan) Parham.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with burial to follow in the Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Members of the Masonic Lodge # 111 of Santa Fe and other friends and relatives will serve as pallbearers.
