Mr. Fred Alexander, 75, a resident of Columbia, passed Monday, January 21 at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Alexander will be conducted 11:00 AM on Saturday, January26 at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Pastors Norman and Carol Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born in Delaware County, IN, he was the son of the late Benny and Ethrel Hunter Alexander and husband of the late DeGurta Kathleen Davenport Alexander. He was a retired operation tech for Delco Remy General Motors, a retired Master Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy, serving in the Korean and Vietnam era and a member of Trinity Family Church.
He is survived by his children: Rebecca Jerry Strahan of Columbia, Kenneth Vanessa Alexander of Anderson, IN and Timothy Craig Alexander of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Zachary Alexander, Lucas Alexander and Mary Kathleen Alexander, all of Anderson, IN, Matthew Nichole Strahan of Columbia, Joshua Lauren Strahan of Abilene, TX and Ethan James Alexander of Sarasota, FL; great granddaughter, Isabella Strahan of Columbia; sister, Marie Derr of Milwaukee, WI. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be ushers of Trinity Family Church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Trinity Family Church.
