Mr. Franklin ?Frank? Nichols, 70, a resident of First Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, April 17, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Nichols will be conducted Monday, April 19, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Randy McNeece officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Butler and Annie Powell Nichols. He was the husband of Louise Barnes Nichols. He was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a former employee of TVA for the Columbia Dam Construction. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #10 and a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Darlene Paul Cothran of Mt. Pleasant; five sons, Richard Cody Nichols, Mack Renee Emmitt, Randy Cindy Emmitt, Phillip Emmitt all of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Bobby Ray Angela Emmitt of Summertown, TN; a brother, George Rachel Nichols; grandchildren, Bailey Nichols, Jermy Amanda Cothran, Jeffery Brandy Cothran all of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Emily Emmitt, Brett Emmitt, and Cassie Emmitt all of Columbia, TN, Ashleish Emmitt, Amy Emmitt, Kay Kay Kelley all of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Cassie Clawson of Ethridge, TN, Zack Powell and Justin Powell both of Mt. Pleasant, TN; two great-grandchildren, Trenton Boshers and Ryan Cothran; Several Step-grandchildren. His best friend Rus.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Nichols and Clyde Nichols; half brother, Claud Workman; a sister, Mildred Dunn; a grandson, Lance ?Bubba? Emmitt.
Pallbearers will Wade McNeece, Jermy Cothran, Jeffery Cothran, Brett Emmitt, Derek Gray, Justin Powell and Zack Powell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne McNeece, Miles Scott, Dalton Hayes, Billy Wayne Attkisson, Carol Spencer, Richard Dugger, Danny Cummins, Stewart Martin, Tony Thompson, Glen Hodge, Jr. and coffee drinkers and employees of By Pass Market.
