Mr. Franklin D. "Bud" Sims, 60, died Monday, April 8, 2002 at his residence on Napier Drive in Columbia.
Funeral services for Mr. Sims will be conducted Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend Monte McCandless officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a masonic rites being recited at 8:00 P.M.
The Hickman County native was the son of the late Odie and Edna Cates Sims. He was the husband of Joann Pope Sims of Columbia. He was a retired iron worker and welder for Columbia Construction Company and former employee of Tennessee Knitting Mills. He was a member of the Faith Pentecostal Church and Columbia Lodge # 31 F. & A.M.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 daughters, Sheila D. Sims and Krystal A. Sims of Columbia, TN; a son, Joey Jackii Sims of Hampshire, TN; 3 grandchildren, Andrew Sism, Kay Kay Sims, and Danielle Sims of Columbia, TN; 4 sisters, Mary Jane Charles Closser of Apopka, FL, Beverly Herbst of Fredricksburg, VA, Betsy Faye Hall of Waverly, TN, and Elvia Cates of Columbia, TN; a brother, Johnny Sims of Williamsport; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Frances Hanback, Christine Harris, Ethelene Hayes, and Thelma Cates; 5 brothers, Harvey Sims, Odie Sims, Jr., Jimmy Sims, Preston Sims, and Ulna Sims.
