Frankie Wayne Morton

Frankie Wayne Morton was born August 21, 1952 in Hickman County. He was the son of the late Elbert Morton and Ethel Malugin Morton. He was the husband of Dawn Marie Zarle Morton of Columbia.

Frankie loved country music and dancing. He loved going wherever Scotty was singing. In his earlier years he had recorded his own songs. Presently he was working for Civil Construction in Franklin as a truck driver and had formerly driven a truck for Mealer Trucking. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, Dawn Marie Zarle Morton, Frankie is survived by his children, Phillip Michelle Morton of Powell, TN, Greg Joy Morton, Scotty Morton, Brent Morton, Angela Kay Buttrum, all of Columbia and Jennifer David Melton of Culleoka.

Frankie passed away on Tuesday morning at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services for Frankie will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Greg Locke officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Josh Parham, Tim Beard, Shane Morton, Brian Hedrick, Khristopher Starling, Bubba Morton, Joshua Morton and Little Tommy Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Jaco and Jacob Morton.

In addition to his parents, Frankie was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Wayne Morton and Frankie Glen Morton.
