Mr. Frank Watts, age 82, a resident of Sheddan Drive in Columbia, passed away on Friday, May 4, at Columbia Care and Rehab Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Watts will be conducted Sunday, May 6, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with L.C. Loveless officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
The family will visit with friends Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born in New Orleans, LA, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Agnes Bird Watts and the husband of Martha Kirk Watts. He was a former patrolman with the Columbia Police Department and worked for the Sanitation Department, from which he retired at age 78. He was a WW II veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Libby Peterson of Crowley, TX and Debbie Preston Luttrell of Smyrna, TN; a sister, Cleo Robinson of Columbia; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, James ?Jim? Watts and a sister, Agnes Evans.
Pallbearers will be Steve Kirk, Johnny Kirk, Bobby Underwood, Larry Logue, Perry Daniels, Paul Nance and John T. Kirk, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Thomas Dake and staff and the nurses and staff of Columbia Care and Rehab.
