Frank Matthew Morton

November 19, 1927 — July 6, 2006

Mr. Frank Matthew Morton, 78, a resident of Lawrenceburg Hwy. in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Funeral services for Mr. Morton will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Born in Hickman County, he was the son of the late Sim and Mary Hassell Morton and husband of Ann Bell Morton. He was retired from the US Air Force, civil service with the US Government and manager of Elmwood Apts. in Mt. Pleasant. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathy Billy Reedy of McComb, MS; a son, Gary Sherry Morton of Smyrna; grandchildren, Leighanne Dockerty of Madison, WS, Chris C.J. Basset and Nathan Morton, both of Columbia, Capt. Kimberly Thornhill of Smyrna and Chad Bush of McComb, MS; great grandchildren, Drake, Krista, Adam, Lillie Grace, Aidan, Kalya and Heather; a sister, Beulah Hicks of Tampa, FL; brothers, Mack Morton, Paul Morton and Eugene Morton, all of Nashville.

Pallbearers will be C.J. Bassett, Chad Bush, Michael Thornhill, Patrick Dockerty, John L. Morton, Billy Joe Morton and Nathan Morton. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Davis, Earl Hayes, Dalton Hayes, Johnny Kirk and Raymond Workman.
