Frank Joseph Dorak

Frank J. Dorak passed away July 9, 2005 in Nashville, TN, at age 89.
He was born July 28, 1915 in Galena, IL, the second of three children born to Joseph and Anna Jones Dorak. His parents and infant sister died in the great flu epidemic, leaving his older brother, Albert, to raise him.
He graduated high school in Galena, where his brother was principal. Much was expected of Frank very early. Independent always, Frank was highly respected throughout his life.
He earned his business degree from Brown College in Galesburg, IL. Frank served in the US ARMY and spent time in Guam, his favorite assignment.
Frank married Okileen Chapman Nelson in 1950, in Peoria, IL. Okileen had one daughter Patsy, who Dad always considered ?his own.? Cathy surprised all and was born in 1951.
Frank and Okileen managed several restaurants and later had their own café, ?FRANKIES,? in Lincoln, NE. A popular bartender, he worked for the Elks in Champaign, IL and the Eagles in Brigham City, UT. Upon retiring, they returned to the Nashville area where Mom passed away.
Survived by daughters Patricia N. Ted Haws and Cathy D. Jon Wilson of Salt Lake City, UT. 7 grandchildren, Douglas Dorak Haws deceased, Lisa Ann Haws Jones, Randy Joseph Haws, Sherrill Lee Haws Fenstermaker, Steven Corey Haws, Stacy Jo Abel Rigby, and Carly Jill Abel Hadden, 21 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren all of Salt Lake area.
To the family of R.D. Chapman our sincere thank-you for years of devotion and love shown to our Dad.
Graveside services will be Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 4:00, conducted by Williams Funeral Home at Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbia, TN.
