Frank Leslie Jones, Sr., age 80 a long time resident of Mt. Pleasant passed away on March 31, 2015 at NHC Columbia.
Frank was born on April 11, 1934 in Columbia, TN to the late Jim and Maude Jones. After graduating from high school Frank went on to attend tech school, becoming an electrician and instrument mechanic. Using those skills he spent many years working at Zeneca. Frank loved being outdoors whether that meant bush hogging, riding four-wheelers, raking hay or taking care of cattle. He just loved being outside. He also enjoyed bringing sausage biscuits to Duke.
Services for Frank will be held on Saturday April 4th at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant beginning at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends on Friday April 3rd from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Jimmy Elliot and Rod Ashmore will be officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Curtis, Mike Anderson, Troy Dugger, Taylor Dugger, Jarit Cornelius, Tyler Dugger. Honorary Pallbearers are his coffee drinking friends at McDonalds in Mt. Pleasant.
Frank is survived by his son, Frank Jones Jr., of Mt Pleasant, his daughter: Donna (Michael) Curtis of Summertown; one sister: Elise “Bobby” (Glen) Anderson of Columbia; His two grandchildren: Brittney (Jarit) Cornelius and Joshua (Meredith) Curtis; Two great grandchildren: Ella and Ava Cornelius; His special friend: Ozella Dugger. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his five brothers: Clifford, Bill, Ewell, Howard and Herbert Jones; his four sisters: Rachel Jones, Eva Witherspoon, Lela Hinson and Arline Wells
