Francis James F.J. Woodward

Mr. F.J. "Woody" Woodward, age 83, a resident of Duck River, TN, passed away May 5, 2008 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Born October 4, 1924 in Sacramento, CA, to the late James and Albina Bedard Woodward. He was married to the former Patricia K. Woodward for 56 years. He was a graduate of San Juan High School and served in the US Marines during WWII and the Korean War. He retired as an insurance agent for Allstate in 1989. He and his wife did volunteer work in civic organizations for over 50 years and both were avid golfers. After retirement, they traveled to many places where they continued their love of golf. Mr. Woodward was the past president of Ancil Hoffman Men's Golf Club and the course marshal, a member of SIRS Branch 23 and active in the Sacramento Safety Council.
He is survived by his son: Michael Nancy Woodward of Duck River; sister: Shirley Buchheister of Carson City and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by s son: Christopher Woodward.
At Mr. Woodward's request, no services are scheduled. Inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC, where he be laid to rest with his wife.
