Francis Edward “Eddie” Hardy Jr., age 60, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his home in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Francis was born December 14, 1954 and grew up in Sandy Hook, Tennessee. He was born to the late Francis E. Hardy, Sr. and Dora Oliver. Eddie served valiantly in the United States Air Force as a missile tech. After Graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, Eddie completed one year of trade school and then worked as a tool and die maker Machinist. In Eddie’s spare time he could be found trying to go as fast as he could in anything with an engine. He loved speed and engineering more speed for his cars. He loved to build motors and race cars. He had a particular love of his very loud 1969 Chevy Camaro painted black with silver racing stripes. Sometimes he would slow down and enjoy going fishing on his boat. He was a loving man. He showed his love for animals by always taking in dogs and cats and caring for them. Eddie was a good man and will be dearly missed by those that knew him.
Eddie is survived by his brothers: Mark (Cheryl) Hardy of Columbia, TN and Gerald R. (Susan) Hardy of Summertown, TN; and special friends Paul and Faye Crews.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 16th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, TN. Services will be held Tuesday, March 17th at 10:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Bro. Eddie Bassham and Bro. Lawrence Jackson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be : Dale Crews, Tony Brawner, Terry Dial, Eddie Shannon, Darrel Potts, and Larry Bassham.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kevin Hinson, Dwight Ashworth, Randall Hagan, Wayne Hagan, Horace (Toy) Pugh, David Gregory, Shan Romer.
