Frances Josephine Smith, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Frances was born on March 21, 1927 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee to the late James M. and Lucy Stewart Johnson. She married Raymond Lewis Smith and they shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 1995. Frances worked at Whiteside Self-Service in Hampshire as a cashier. She was a homemaker, seamstress, quilter, and gardener. Frances was the oldest living member of Beech Hill Church of Christ. Above all, she was a very devout Christian.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Beech Hill Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee with Brother Hueston Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Hill Cemetery.
Frances is survived by her son Huey (Anita) Smith of Hampshire; daughter Nancy (William) Roland of Centerville; special son William Doy Sharpe; granddaughters Gena (Robert) Caldiraro of Mt. Pleasant, Missy (David) Phillips of Columbia, Mary Lynn Smith of Spring Hill, and Janie Jo Smith of Spring Hill; grandson Hugh (Brande) Smith of Parsons; great-grandsons Chuck (Heather) Vaughn, Cortland Phillips, and Hueston Smith; great-granddaughters Maddie Smith, Raeann Phillips, and Sydney Caldiraro; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents James and Lucy Johnson, husband Raymond Smith, and son Raymond Lewis (Sonny) Smith Jr.
Pallbearers will be Todd Gilliam, William Doy Sharpe, Chuck Vaughn, David Phillips, Cortland Phillips, Robert Caldiraro, Hugh Smith, and Hueston Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Beech Hill Church of Christ and Camp Branch Friends.
