Frances Louise Givens

Mrs. Frances Louise Brewer Givens, age 71, resident of Fly Road in Santa Fe, passed away on Saturday, September 4th at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral services for Mrs. Givens will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 8th in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Pastor Ward Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Santa Fe Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born December 18, 1938 in Lewis County, she was the daughter of the late Kelsie Brewer and Annie Mae Runions Brewer Vaughn and the wife of the late James Edward "Tug" Givens. She retired from GE, where she ran a T structure machine, worked for Storktown later became Weathertamer, Super Rama as a cashier and at Uptown Antiques. She loved antiques, going to yard sales, sewing and flowers. She especially loved being surrounded by her family and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Christ Church of Columbia.

She is survived by her children: Jamie Dungy, Pam David Wall and Kathy Givens, all of Santa Fe; grandchildren: Joseph Dungy of Santa Fe, Josh Maeghan Wall and Meg Alan Lindsey, both of Columbia; great grandchildren: Lilly, Brewer and Benton Wall, Ruthie Belle and Audrey Pearl Lindsey; half sisters: Lou Rochelle and Gayle Hendrix, both of Hampshire; half brothers: Ray Vaughn and Monroe Vaughn, Jr., both of Hampshire; mother-in-law: Christine Kelley Givens of Santa Fe; sister-in-law: Joyce Jerry Scroggins of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother: Melvin "Bud" Brewer; step father: Monroe Vaughn; half sister: Betty Cothran.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Dungy, Josh Wall, Alan Lindsey, Jerry Brewer, Tommy Parks and Mike Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Christ Church of Columbia, her nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors of the Santa Fe and Hilltown Communities, Linda K. Potts and employees of Potts Grocery.
