Frances Key Walker, age 85, a long-time resident of the Brace Community in Lawrence County, and most recently a resident of Morning Pointe Assisted Living, passed away on Monday morning at NHC/Hillview.
Mrs. Walker was born November 3, 1925 in Moulton, AL, the daughter of the late John Clark Key and Eunice Bell Heflin Key. She was the wife of the late Marvin W. Walker who preceded her in death in January 2010. Frances was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting candy dishes and teddy bears and reading. Her family fondly remembers her most favorite hobby as going shopping. She and her husband were founding members of Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Randy Cheryl Walker of Brace and Donna Farrell Long of Columbia; grandchildren, Kendra Shawn Elkins of Columbia, Ben Joey Walker of North Carolina, Clint Walker and Brett Walker of Brace; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Torrie Elkins of Columbia; one brother, Clark Wendell Nettie Key of Lawrenceburg and a sister-in-law, Jessie Key of Nolensville. In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, William Curtis Key, Douglas Leroy Key, Alma Inez Tolbert, Geraldine Williams and Clifford Donald Key.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at the Brace Cemetery in the Brace community of Lawrence County with Rev. Jim Ledbetter officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
