Mrs. Frances Goodman Barker, age 86, a resident of the Ricketts Mill Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Monday, Nov. 20, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Barker will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Edd Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 4:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Lewis County native was the daughter of the late Richard and Maude Brown Goodman. She was the wife of the late William Frazier Barker who preceded her in death on January 13, 1995. She was owner and operator of the Stitch and Save cloth shop in Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the Beech Hill Church of Christ for some 70 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Clara Mae Ray Minnich of LaVergne; a son, David Betty Barker of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren, Rhonda Jack Murphy of Pulaski, Ricky Barker of New Johnsonville, Randy Patty Barker of New Johnsonville, Tim Paula Barker of Mt. Pleasant, Mike Stephanie Minnich of Murfreesboro and Steve Minnich of LaVergne; two step-grandchildren, Terry Alana Colvett of Mt. Pleasant and Lynn Jeff Smith of Columbia; 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clem Norma Goodman of Mt. Pleasant and Jimmie Edna Goodman of Columbia. She was preceded in death by one son, Dickie Barker; three brothers, Joe, Glenn and Robert Goodman and a sister, Grace Prokopeck.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Beech Hill Church of Christ.
