Mr. Floyd Leon Hicks, 69, the husband of Evelyn Lorene Baldwin Hicks and a resident of Drake Lane in Summertown, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Hicks will be conducted, Saturday January 24, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Pastor Randall McKelvey officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Friday after 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Jemison, Alabama native was the son of Pearlie Lovett Hicks of Swan Creek, Illinois and the late John Claude Hicks. He was a long-time resident of Roseville, Illinois. He was a retired long-time employee of Wilson Foods and was formerly affiliated with the City of Roseville, Illinois. He was an avid fisherman & hunter and a professional grandfather and a member of the New Harvest Christian Center. He was loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Brenda David Goering of Inman, KS, Lonnie Melissa Hicks of Summertown, TN, Larry Lori Hicks of Swan Creek, IL, Lyle Hicks of Aztec, NM; a sister, Francis Dale Whinery of Swan Creek, IL; a brother, Vernon Hicks of Swan Creek, Il; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alexandria Hicks.
Pallbearers will be Larry Hicks, Cory Hicks, Quinten Hicks, Patrick Kesler, Shawn Gordon, Randy Whinery and James Whinery.
Honorary pallbearer will David Goering.
