Flossie Colvett Mckissick

February 17, 1931 — April 23, 2011

Mrs. Flossie Colvett McKissick, 80, resident of Hwy 166 North in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, April 23rd , 2011 at Life Care Center.

Born in Campbellsville on February 17, 1931 Flossie was the daughter of the late David Dee and Allie Dugger Colvett. Flossie married James Harlon McKissick April 12, 1952 who preceded her in death in January of 2000. She was a retired pocket setter for Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing. Flossie loved cooking, canning, making doll clothes, quilting and working in her garden. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a member of the Beech Hill Church of Christ.

She is survived by one daughter and one son: Sherry McKissick of Mt. Pleasant and Barry Shirley McKissick of Lewisburg; a grandson: Scotty Khristina James of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandchildren: Kayla Woody, Chelsey Woody, Clay Woody, Brittany James all of Mt. Pleasant ; a sister: Sally Bradley of Columbia. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Lewis Colvett, Bruce Colvett and Cordia Colvett; three sisters: Rebecca Clifton, Betty Workman and Willie Maude Tomerlin.

Funeral services for Mrs. McKissick will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Hueston Marshall and Ed Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 4:00 -8:00 P.M. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.

Active pallbearers will be Terry Cook, Kenneth Colvett, Greg Bradley, Joe Colvett, John Colvett, David Workman, Doug Workman and Joe Shannon.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men of Beech Hill Church of Christ, Staff of Life Care Center and Dr. Gibran Naddy.

Memorial donations may be made to the Beech Hill Church of Christ.
