Mrs. Flora Benton Prevatte, 90, resident of New Port Rd. in Thompson Station, died Tuesday, July 26, 2004 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services for Mrs. Prevatte will be conducted at a later date at the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery in Whiteville, NC.
Born in Whiteville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Corbet and Margaret Jolly Benton and wife of the late Braxton Prevatte. She was a retired secretary with Prevatte Insurance Agency, former president and treasurer of the Whiteville Women?s Club and a member of the First Baptist Church in Whiteville.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Prevatte Wolfe of Raleigh, NC and Nancy Prevatte Dunlap and son-in-law Tom Dunlap of Thompson Station; three grandsons, Gregory Wolfe and Scot Dunlap, both of Raleigh, NC and Bruce Wolfe of London, KY; two sisters, Rachel Taylor of Whiteville, NC and Mildred Plant of Florida; a brother, Roy Benton of Chadbourn, NC.
Williams Funeral Home of Columbia is in charge of local arrangements.
