Mr. Felix H. Bradford, Sr., 86, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at Hidden Acres – Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehab in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
Mr. Bradford was born in Maury County, Tennessee on March 3, 1925 to the late Ellis and Martha Ragsdale Bradford. He served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II. He became a carpenter by trade and worked at Gobble Lumber Company as well as Columbia Mill and Elevator.
He married the late Bertha E. Webb Bradford who preceded him in death on November 4, 2005. They raised a family together in Columbia, Tennessee. Felix enjoyed playing music, especially the guitar and banjo. He also enjoyed working on lawnmowers. Fishing was a favorite past time.
Mr. Bradford leaves behind his children: Felix Henson Judith Lee Bradford, Jr., David Allen Carol Bradford, Edith Ann Goodwin all of Maury County, Billy Wayne Bradford of Key West, FL, and James Timothy Bradford of Maury County; grandchildren: James Paul Bradford, Felix H. Bradford, III, Mary Elizabeth Bradford, Jonathan Allen Bradford, David Wayne Green, Brian Curtis Goodwin, and Rachel Hannah Morgan; 12 great grandchildren; and his sister Ruby Thomas of Kentucky.
Funeral services for Mr. Bradford will be held Monday June 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Tommy Culberson officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, June 10 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Felix Bradford, III, James P. Bradford, Jonathan Bradford, Brian Curtis Goodwin, David Wayne Green, Greg James and Dudley James "Pete" Bradford.
