Felice Jobe Stark, 88, of Mount Hope, WV passed away on November 27th in Columbia, Tennessee.
Born on June 24, 1928, in Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late Nicholas John and Nettie Hinte Jobe.
Mrs. Stark graduated from Mt. Hope High School in 1945 and Marshall University in 1949. She was a retired school teacher for the Fayette County Board of Education, having taught at Oak Hill High, Collins High and Mt. Hope High Schools for a combined 29 years. She retired in 1988.
Felice was a member of the Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church where she served as a trustee, president of the Mt. Hope Presbyterian Women, church organist, choir and Sunday School teacher. She was a former member of the Mt. Hope Junior Woman’s Club, Federated League, Fayette Study Club and White Oak Country Club. She was inducted into the Mt. Hope High School Alumni Hall of Fame in October of 2010.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Donald H. Stark; brother, Alfred Jobe; and sisters, Theresa Jobe and Frances Jobe.
Survivors include her son, John Harvie (Cindy) Stark of Beckley; daughter, Jennifer (Tony)
Ball of Columbia, Tennessee; sister Betty FitzGerald of Piscataway, New Jersey; granddaughters, Megan and Marien Stark of Wilmington, North Carolina; Carly (Bo) Holloway of Columbia, Tennessee, Alex Ross of Portland Oregon and Liza (Alex) Moss of Nashville, Tennessee; two great grandsons, Lee and Gray Holloway of Columbia, Tennessee.
Services will be held at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Beth Stone officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be at the Sunset Memorial Park Mausolem n Beckley.
Pallbearers will be Charles Howard, Steve Brown, Michael Martin, Dan Snead, Dr. Don McLain and Bob Dorado. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Allen and Ken Maynor.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Greater Mt. Hope Community Fund, Donald H. Stark Fund, 211 Bluestone Road, Mt. Hope, WV 25880.
