Ezell Travis Bradley

Margaret Ezell Travis Bradley, Ezell to her friends, was born in Sparta, Tennessee on May 31st, 1932. She passed peacefully away at her home in Springhill, surrounded by her loved ones, on October 29th, 2022. She was 90 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Crispin Bradley; her son, Bernard Clinton Bradley; her siblings: June Andrews, W.C. Travis, Anita Chaistain, and Therman Chaistain; and her daughter-in-law, Karen Marshall Carlton. She is survived by her son, James R. Bradley, and her grandchildren: Amanda Brown (Gary), Tonya Marion (Sanford), Jason Bradley (Amy), Katherine Bunch (Joel), James Blaine Bradley (Lizette), Kristina Bradley-Khan (Ibrahim), and Melissa Stutts (Dustin). She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren: Lee, Jesse, and Cadance Marion; David, Mary, Sherry, Derric, and Daniel Bradley; Tabatha Slatton; Kyle and Zack Bunch; Annabelle and Kipp Brown; Juliette and Landon James Bradley; Aamir, Zayn, and Zara Khan; and Eden Stutts.

in 1950, Ezell married Bernard Bradley. She went on to become a nurse, a profession she was very proud to undertake. Throughout her life, Ezell had the most vibrant spirit. She was the perfect combination of “tell it like it is” and loving. She was silly - always playing dress up or wearing funny hats and cutting up with the kids. She was strong-willed, independent, and giving. She put her whole heart into everything she did. She was larger than life; a woman who never met a stranger. She welcomed everyone into her home and her heart. She took care of everyone, she loved her family and God above all else. Her house was everyone’s home. She loved to garden, to dance, to go pretty much anywhere… she was always ready to jump into whatever was going on - both feet in! Ezell was always actively involved in whatever her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids were doing. She was the first to crack a joke, the first to head to a yard sale, and always ready to make a meal large enough to feed an army. She loved to make candy and cookies with the kids - the best fudge the world has ever known. Regardless of who it was or whether they’d ever met her when someone went to her home they were treated like family. Two things were certain - they would be welcomed with a hug and fed before they left.

As long as the list of grandkids is, she had countless other “adopted” grandkids. The friends of her grandkids, members of her church, and more, who she called her own. More importantly, she treated them as her own and loved them. Ezell was a one-of-a-kind. A gem of a woman, mother, grandmother, and friend. The type of person we should all aspire to. Her sarcasm, her humor, the late-night hangouts with Neapolitan ice cream and Matlock, the long conversations, and the world’s best witch cackle… She was charisma incarnate. A true one-of-a-kind. And she is loved and missed beyond words.

Services for Ezell will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia Tennessee on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Visitation will begin at noon with the funeral service following at 1 pm.
