The Carter?s Creek Community native was the daughter of the late William C. and Ida Mae Priest Reed and was the widow of James ?Dan? Davis and Edward White. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and earned her teaching certificate at Bethel College in McKinzie in which it took four years to get her certificate. She taught at Union School that was a one room school with eight grades, thirty-five students, and an old pot belly stove. She had to board with two of her students families. She walked one mile to school every day and one mile home. The amazing thing about this lady is that she had polio, but didn?t let that stop her from following her dream. She was nominated by Hidden Acres Health Care into the Who?s Who in Tennessee Nursing Homes competition. She was a Maury County School teacher and former employee of the County Clerks Office. Mrs. White was an avid reader and member of the Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
