Mrs. Evelyn Edge Orr, 76, a resident of 7th Avenue in Columbia, passed away on Monday, October 22, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Orr will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Born in Brunswick County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rosa Harmon Edge. She worked as a bookkeeper for Rippey Auto Parts, TN Valley Packaging, a cashier for Wal-Mart and a nurse for Bel-Air Nusring Home.
She is survived by daughters, Jennifer R. Eugene Wright of Columbia and Marilyn H. Richard Purdue of Suffolk, VA; grandson, Brian R. Purdie of Virginia Beach, VA; great grandson, Tyler Purdie; brothers, Thomas B. Mabel Edge, Jr. of Wilmington, NC and G. Randolph Betty Edge of Ocean Isle, NC. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Pallbearers will be Roy Sellers, Paul Loftin, Donnie Orr, William ?Bill? Lightfoot, Marvin Cox and Scott Pafford. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of NHC/Hillview, employees of Wal-Mart, Dr. Gaylon Harris, Dr. Moataz Toban, Carolyn Seagraves, Donna Bennett, Valerie Sellers and Connie Loftin.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Maury Co. Unit, 2000 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37203
