Evelyn Christine Gibson

Mrs. Evelyn Christine Cothran Gibson, age 70, a resident of Sunset Lane in Columbia, passed away on Tuesday July 3, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gibson will be conducted Friday July 6 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Dickey Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 2:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Minnie Massey Cothran and the wife of Ray Gibson. She was a retired Barber at Gibson Brothers California Concept and worked at Dixie Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of Mt. Wesley Akin Nazarene Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one son: Chris Becky Gibson of Santa Fe; grandchildren: Graham Gibson, Luke Gibson and Anna Claire Gibson all of Santa Fe; four sisters: Mary Mack Scott, Sara Dickey Lindsey and Viola Stanley Odom all of Mt. Pleasant, Almajean J.W. Steward of Santa Fe; one brother: Richard Edith Cothran of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law: Laney Cothran of Mt. Pleasant; two brother-in-laws: Jerry Debbie Gibson of Columbia and Tommy McGee of Mt. Pleasant; many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother: Billy Ray Cothran and one sister: Nellie Sue McGee.

Pallbearers will be Terry Orton, Fletcher Lindsey, Ricky Cothran, Ray Cothran, Clint Steward, Stoney Orton and Larry Holt.
Honorary pallbearers will be past workers of Dixie Manufacturing , past customers of Gibson Brothers California Concept, Members of Mt. Wesley Akin Church of the Nazarene, Kathey Orton Phelps, Wesley Ray Moore and Matthew Gibson.
