Eva Marie King

May 23, 1924 — October 17, 2007

Mrs. Eva Marie Workman King, age 83, a long time resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday at Health Center at Richland in Nashville.

Funeral service for Mrs. King will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Dwight Lies officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 5:00 ? 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Giles Co. native was the daughter of the late Clarence Leon and Thelma Morris Workman. She was the wife of the late Ernest King who preceded her in death on March 11, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughters: Jane Smith of Nashville and Nancy King of Mt. Pleasant; one son: Gary Vicky King of Culleoka; step-daughter: Margaret Ellen Jim Carpenter of Columbia; grandchildren: Brent Smith of Nashville, Kevin King of Nashville, Tracy Bolton of Columbia, Shannon Stephens of Nashville, Brittany King of Columbia, Lorie Lee of Nashville and Clayton Zaragoza of Lynnville; step-grandchildren: Terry Carpenter of Mt. Pleasant, Teresa Carpenter of Columbia, Tammy Grooms of Columbia and Darrell King of Mt. Pleasant; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Annie Kelley, Mary Evelyn Abney, Willa Dean Dugger and Ruth Workman; 3 brothers: Leon Workman, Robert Workman and James Workman and one step-son: Harold Dean ?Bubba? King.

Pallbearers will be Kevin King, Brent Smith, Jeff Bolton, Michael King, Terry Carpenter and Doug King.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Kelley, Wayne Kelley, Junior Kelley, Terry Frazier, Clayton Zaragoza, R.L. Workman, Raymond Workman and members of the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
