Eugene K Burns

SSG Eugene Kesler Burns, US Army, Retired, age 84, of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, and formerly of Columbia, Tennessee.

Mr. Burns was born on November 9, 1934, in Clintonville, WV to James and Vivian Campbell Burns. Mr. Burns was a hero, having served his country for over twenty years, and was a Platoon Sargent upon retirement from full time service, then as a Staff Sargent in the US Army National Guard. Post retirement, he was a member of the VFW. He was of the Christian faith. His daughter-in-law remembers that he was the best father-in-law ever.

Survivors include his children: Judith (Darrell) Jones, Eugene K. “Bud” (Laura) Burns, Jr., and Dennis (Elizabeth) Burns; and 9 grandchildren.

Mr. Burns’ life will be commemorated by a private graveside inurnment in the Arbors at Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the US Army Honor Guard.
