Ethyl Sue Nolen

Ethyl Sue Nolen, age 77, passed away on August 28, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.
Ethyl was born on December 22, 1935 to the late John Howard Bolton and the late Nettie Lee Collins.Bolton in Maury County, Tennessee. She married William Ethridge Nolen, Jr. on July 21, 1950 and they had several children together. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2007.
Ethyl worked at Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing as a seamstress for several years. She was best known in the community for coaching baseball and softball for the Mt. Pleasant Little League. Ms. Ethyl was affectionately called “the lady with no shoes” because she never wore shoes on the field, either as a coach or a player. She loved fishing, painting and especially enjoyed spending time with her babies……her great grandchildren. Once at the nursing home she was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a member of the Ebenezer Church in Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Nolen is survived by her children: Deb (Jerry) Smith of Summertown, Dena (David) Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Donna (Ricky) Boshers of Mt. Pleasant, Deloris (Leon) Daniel of Mt. Pleasant, Daphne (Bradley) Woodard of Mt. Pleasant, John (Shannon) Nolen of Duck River and Jimmy (Susie) Hyatt of Summertown; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grand children; siblings: Betty (Roy) Grooms, Harry (Faye) Bolton and Robert (Barbara) Bolton. In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by her brothers: J. P. Bolton and Howard Bolton.
Funeral services for Ethyl will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. William Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, August 31 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kris Smith, Chad Busby, David Carl Smith, Jereomy Boshers, Will Woodard and Chance Woodard will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandson: Brady Woodard, A. J. Busby, Justin Boshers, Ricky Boshers, Joe Churchwell, Jeffery Lumpkins and her nephews.
