Ethel Adams Alexander

Mrs. Ethel M. Adams Alexander, age 89, resident of Hilltop Dr. in Columbia, passed away on Monday, July 5 2010 at NHC/Columbia.

Born April 1, 1921 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Sally Taylor Adams and wife of the late Lawrence Alexander. She was a graduate of the Columbia Business College and retired as a payroll clerk from Farm Bureau after 34 years. She loved traveling with her husband to Europe and Scotland to visit family and she attended First Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her sisters: Sidney Thomas, Evelyn Lovett, Betty Drumwright and Barbara Hunt; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother: Al Adams, Jr.; sisters: Virginia Hall, Lorine Harris, Pauline Barnett, Viola Chappel, Gertrude Jones and Ruby Parr.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alexander will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 7 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Steve Roberson and Walter Jewell officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Bill A. Wells, Robin Lovett, James E. Jones, Wayne Chappel, Wilson Barnett, Wayne Hall, Joseph Anderson and Wayne Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Adult Sunday School Class at First Church of the Nazarene.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
