Mrs. Estella Cates, 86, a resident of McNabb Lane in Hampshire passed away on Saturday, November 8, at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cates will be conducted Monday November 10, at 2:00P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Hubert Cunningham officiating, Burial will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends Sunday from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. and on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Nickson and Lizzie Beth Runions McNabb and the widow of Ollie Edward Cates. She was a homemaker and quilt maker and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Cathey's Creek Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her children: James "Buddy" Endia Cates of Hampshire, Dorothy Carroll and Elise Stills both of Columbia, Amy "Betsy" Basil Runions, Katie Cates and Frances Larry Runions all of Hampshire and Van "Frankie" Doris Cates of Columbia; 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; a brother: Paul McNabb of Hampshire and one sister: Lena Kate Williams of Louisiana. She was preceded in death by a son: William Cates; four brothers: James McNabb, Clarence McNabb, William McNabb and Mabry McNabb; two sisters: Elsie McNabb and Martha Easter.
Pallbearers will be Wade Runions, Bradley Runions, Stephen Runions, Timothy McKennon, Jerry Carroll and Wiley Stills.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Jones, Rodney Hensley, Michael McAbee, Chance Jones, Brian Savage and Jason Belew.
The family would like to express special thanks to: the Staff of Maury Regional Home Health , Angie Harden, Glenda Runions and Monte and the staff of First Call, Sydney, Sarah, Wanda, Ken, Scott and Dallas and the Maury Regional Cancer Center Staff.
