Mr. Ernest H. "Doc" Calvert, age 74, a resident of Hwy. 20 in Summertown, passed away Monday, June 22, at NHC/Scott Nursing Home in Lawrenceburg.
Funeral services for Mr. Calvert will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born March 3, 1935 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Ernest H. Calvert, Sr., and Leda Gibson Calvert and the husband of Nettie Mae Liles Calvert. He was a graduate of Hay Long High School in Mt. Pleasant and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ernest retired from the maintenance department of Zeneca. He loved fishing, gardening and had played softball for Stauffer Chemical. Ernest dedicated his life to working hard to take care of his family. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Jackie Jana Calvert of Summertown; Ernest H. Candace Calvert III of Lawrenceburg and Diane David Bailey of Summertown; one brother: Richard Calvert of Summertown; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Calvert, Landon Calvert, Ernest H. Calvert IV, Colin Calvert, Kyle Bailey and Cameron Bradburn.
