Ernest Moore, Sr.

Mr. Ernest ?Ernie? Moore, Jr., age 57, a resident of Rainey Drive in Columbia, passed away on Monday, October 1, in Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Moore will be conducted Thursday at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Terry Golden officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home. The Lawrence County native was the son of the late Ernest L. Sr. and Racheal Clayton Moore. He was the husband of Sharon Calvert Moore who survives. He was a painter with Golden Construction and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: Christopher Shawn Moore and fiancée Julie Underwood of Mt. Pleasant, Derek Tera Moore of Pulaski and Heather Moore of Columbia; two sisters: Margaret William Womble of Lawrenceburg and Kathyrn Billy Ray Comer of Loretto; grandchildren: Christopher Shawn Moore, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, Dillon Moore of Alabama, Tristen Moore of Columbia, Elliott Underwood of Mt. Pleasant, Emily Moore of Mt. Pleasant, Trey Moore of Columbia; step-granddaughters Stacy and Brandi Moore of Alabama; special nieces: Sheila Eastep , Kaye Lott and Debbie Oliver and several nieces and nephews; two special friends: Brandon Cantrell and Karry Hight of Columbia. He was preceded in death by one son: Gary Dion Moore, one brother: Paul Curtis Guthrie and one sister: Jewell Cates.
