Ernest Randolph “Randy” King, age 70, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on August 23, 2019, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Randy was born November 12, 1948, in Columbia, TN, the son of the late Ernest J. “E.J.” King, Jr., and Dorothy Henson King. Randy was a graduate of Hay Long High School and attended Martin Methodist College in Pulaski. He was a life-long beef cattle and tobacco farmer, working alongside his father and later on, his brother, on their family farm near Mt. Pleasant., Randy was very quiet and reserved, but his dog, Zeva, could always bring out something special in him. He was a member of the Porter’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Randy worked for the State of Tennessee for more than 15 years. He later retired from the Williamson County Government.
Survivors include two sisters, Janet (Joey) Meadows and Theresa Dale Blair; two brothers, David (Debbie) King, and Danny (Rhonda) King, along with Zeva, his 3-legged puppy. Randy was preceded in death by Ruth Crowell, his special long-time friend.
Funeral services for Randy will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Eddie Watson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Polk Memorial Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
