Mr. Ernest "Little Ed" Himes, age 52, resident of Dry Fork Road in Hampshire, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Funeral services for Mr. Himes will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 16, 2010 in the chapel of the Williams Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Rock Jaggers officiating. Interment will follow at the Pisgah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Born November 12, 1957, Mr. Himes was born in Maury County, the son of the late Jim and Eather Dunn Himes. He was a truck driver having worked for Blue Springs Rock, Nichols Bro's Paving, Mike Floyd and Van Boshers. He had also run a tractor for the State of Tennessee. He loved farming and working with his Cattle. Mr. Himes was a member of the First Methodist Church of Hampshire.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Bennett Himes of Hampshire; two sons, Chad Anita Himes of Summertown and Adam Lacey Himes of Hampshire; and three brothers, Haville Charlotte Himes and Clifton Cindy Himes both of Hampshire and Sam Barbara Himes of Centerville. He was preceded in death by a brother James David Himes.
Active pallbearers will be Randall Himes, Josh Himes, Alonza Himes, Malcolm Runions, Peewee Runions and Ernie Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be David Harville, Ricky Hill, Jimmy and Tina Grooms, Ronnie Johnson, Richard and Tina Wilkes, his nieces and nephews, Angie Hardin, Maury Regional Home Health and all of his little sisters at Maury Regional outpatient IV department.
