Erma Aldine Edsall, age 106, resident of Poplar Estates, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 1, a 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Darryl Martin officiating.
Erma was born June 7, 1911, in Picton, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Everett Clayton Scott and Addie May Whattam Scott. She was the wife of the late Robert R. Edsall, who preceded her in death in 1971. Erma retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Central NY, in 1976 after 24 years of service. During WW II, she was captain of the Forest Woodman Circle. She was a member of the Gethsemane Methodist Church in Syracuse, NY.
Survivors include a grandson Lee E.(Tamara) Turner of Columbia; granddaughter, Linda (Tony) James of Nashville; 6 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchilden. In addition to her husband and parents, Erma was preceded in death by a son, James “Jimmy” Everett Edsall and a daughter, Betty Mae Turner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Poplar Estates.
