Mrs. Endia L. Ingram Cates, age 74, resident of Ridgetop Road in the Hampshire Community for over 40 years, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 22, 2011 at her residence.

Born on August 8, 1936 in Durant, Oklahoma and raised in the Culleoka Community, she was the daughter of the late Frances Buford "Red" and Clara Mae Barcheers Ingram. Mrs. Cates was the wife of James "Buddy" Cates of the Hampshire Community. In her past time, Endia loved watching the Atlanta Braves baseball games, working crossword puzzles, going to eat catfish and she also enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table and watching the traffic pass by. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, her family said she was a southern Christian.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Randy Allen McKennon of Hays, Kansas and Tim Susie McKennon of the Hampshire Community; daughter, Kathy Cates Rodney Hensley of the Hampshire Community; her grandchildren, Carol Renee McKennon, Stephanie McKennon, Steve McKennon, Dustin McKennon, Jeffery Sparkman, Mickie McKennon, Kaitlyn Hensley and Emma Grace Hensley; two step-grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, A.C. McKennon, a son, Ricky Steven McKennon and by her step-mother, Irene Watson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cates will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Bill Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

The Cates Family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Eddie McKennon, Roy Stills, Stephen Runions, Wade Runions, Bradley Runions, Steve Webster, Jacob Etchison and Larry Runions. Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and neighbors of the Ridgetop Community of Hampshire.
