Mr. Elton Drexel ?Luke? Lucas, 92, a resident of McIntire Drive in Columbia, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

Funeral services for Mr. Lucas will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Pete Tackett, Reverend Billy Kimbrough and Reverend Mike Dawson officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born in Danville, AR, he was the son of the late Marvin and Maude Burch Lucas and husband of Ruth Cryer Lucas. He was a retired clothing salesman for JC Penny and Bullock?s of Las Vegas, NV, former sheriff of Clark County, NV, an avid gardener, fisherman, enjoyed cooking and loved church fellowship. He was active in the phone ministry of First Baptist Church and dedicated to his church fellowship in helping anyone who needed a smile or a telephone greeting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cathy Lucas of Marietta, GA; a son, John Ed Penny Lucas of Tarzana, CA; three grandchildren, Lucas Bigham of Marietta, GA, Heather Jeff Sevely and Megan Gary Lewis, both of San Marcus, CA; great granddaughter, Brieanne Kaye Sevely of San Marcus, CA; three brothers, Jim Lou Lucas of Chanute, KS, Oael Betty Lucas of Piedmont, KS and Burch Lucas of Wichita, KS; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Woody Lucas; two sisters, Glenda Thompson and Avonelle Womack.

Pallbearers will be Leon Dixon, Steve Brown, Lucas Bigham, Randy Jiles, Gary Beaty, Tom Carroll, Mel Bunch and Glen Lucas, Jr.
