Mrs. Elsie May "Joan" Pierce, age 69, a resident of Sheepneck Rd in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, March 12, at Rosewood Manor.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pierce will be conducted Saturday, March 14, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Brother Terry Golden officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30-9:00 P.M. and Saturday from 10:00 AM to service time at the funeral home.
Born in Maury County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Bud Pierce and Deannie Workman Pierce. She was the widow of Joseph Raymond Pierce. Mrs. Pierce worked for the Tennessee Knitting Mill and was a waitress, a homemaker and wonderful mother. She was of Baptist faith.
She is survived by four sons: Joseph "Joey" Ann Pierce of Hohenwald, Edward Pierce, Terry Dorothy Pierce, both of Mt. Pleasant and Thomas Connie Pierce of Summertown; six grandchildren: Jonathan Andrew Pierce, Heaven Lynn Pierce, Thomas Pierce Jr., Lisa May Pierce, Terry Dean Pierce Jr., Tabitha Carol Pierce and Angela Allen; several step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a sister: Christine Pierce of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by a son: Charles Laverne Pierce; several brothers and sisters and one great-grandbaby.
Pallbearers will be Chris Luke, Robert Luke, Terry Mash, Billy Gregory, Mike Burke, Frankie Bennett, Donald Collins and Danny Burke.
Honorary pallbearers will be Staff of Columbia Care, Timmy Elliott and Donnie Isabell.
