Elsie Jean "Duck" Warfield was born July 9, 1941 in Columbia, TN, the daughter of the late Earnest Holt and Samella Claude Holt. In 1975 she married Alvin A. Warfield of Primm Springs.
Elsie was the first woman ever employed by Kasbar International, where she retired as a sewing machine operator. She also worked for several private families. "Duck" loved music; her favorite artists were Barry White and Teddy Pendergrass.
In addition to her husband, Alvin, she is survived by her children: Stacey Abernathy of Columbia, Jackie Holt of Nashville and Tracey Rev. Ashley Cox of Columbia; five grandchildren, one in Nashville and four in Columbia; two sisters: Ernestine Mitchell and Patty Holt, both of Columbia; two brothers: Jerry Catherine Holt of Mt. Pleasant and Bobby Holt of Columbia; two sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Warfield of Primm Springs and Mary Holt of Nashville; special friends: Jeff Addison, Gus Addison, Cindy, Nancy and Jimmy McEwen, Rick Polk and Brenda Johnson along with many nieces, nephews and other friends.
The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Gibran Naddy, Signature Health Care and Maury Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 P.M. at the Fort Cooper Cemetery with the family gathering at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia at 12:00 Noon.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
