Mrs. Ann Elizabeth “Mammie” Dugger, age 71, Maury County native and long time resident of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at NHC Hillview.
Mammie was born September 24, 1943 in the Zion community. She attended Zion Elementary School and later graduated in 1962 as a member of the first graduating class of the new Central High School. She married the late Richard C. Dugger on March 17, 1963. They had been married 44 years at the time of his death on March 21, 2007. She was a retired RNA from NHC Columbia.
Mrs. Dugger was an active member of Beech Hill Church of Christ, and was a devoted fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father and mother, Milton and Sadie Barnes, her brother, Clayton Barnes, and two sisters, Louise Nichols and Anita Howell.
She is survived by "her boys", Jermy (Amanda) Cothran, Jeffery (Brandy) Cothran, their children "her babies" Annabelle and Emmalyn Cothran, Ryan and William Cothran. She also had 12 nieces and nephews and over a dozen great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mammie will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Hueston Marshall and Randy McNeese officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Paul Cothran, Mike Barnes, Randy Emmitt, Bobby Ray Emmitt, Richard Nichols, Roger Howell, and Travis Howell. Honorary pallbearers will include Robby Dugger, Mike Dugger, Dale Barnes, the coffee drinkers at Small Town Diner, and members of the Beech Hill Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beech Hill Church of Christ, 1783 Highway 166N, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
