Elizabeth Hinson

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hinson, age 91, longtime resident of Edgewood Avenue, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the home of her son in Columbia.

Mrs. Hinson was born on December 14, 1919 in Nashville, TN. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Alma McNeill Reed and wife of the late Robert Lee Hinson. She retired as a secretary with the Maury County Board of Education. Elizabeth was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant and was involved in numerous church activities.

Mrs. Hinson is survived by one son, Charles Mary Hinson of Columbia; grandchildren: Greta Barry Dugger Nichols of Mt. Pleasant, Charles Stacey Hinson of Cornelia, GA, Bethany Lane of Spring Hill, Hayley Marie Hinson, Matthew Hinson and Allison Hinson, all of Cookeville; great-grandchildren: James Patrick Nichols and Kayla Leighann Nichols, both of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Beth Hinson of Spring Hill and Miranda Lane of Antioch. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by two sons, James Robert Hinson and Richard Martin Hinson and a sister, Rebecca Dale Arnwine.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hinson will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. J.C. Christian officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
