Elise Dale Massey

Mrs. Elise Dale Massey, 94, a long time resident of Highway 166 North in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, at Hidden Acres Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services for Mrs. Massey will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. William Toungette officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 ? 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 6:30 ? 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Massey was born on September 22, 1912, in Maury County to the late Bob and Betty Garner Dale. She was the wife of the late Grover C. Massey. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children: Betty Donald Hickman, Annie Henson, William Wanda Massey, Paul Ruby Massey, Pauline R.L. Workman, Sue Tony Thomson, Shirley Ambrose, Jackie Cindy Massey and Wayne Massey, all of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters-in-law: Joyce Massey of Mt. Pleasant and Loreli Massey of North Carolina; 30 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 sons: G.C. Massey, Buddy Massey and Robert Massey; two sons-in-law: James Henson and Dusty Ambrose and one daughter-in-law: Carolyn Massey and several. brothers and sisters.


Pallbearers will be Allen McCanless, Johnny Johns, Douglas Marshall, Tony Morales, Ray Brawner and Terry Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and residents of Hidden Acres Nursing Home, Helen Marcum. A special thanks to Hidden Acres Nursing Home staff and residents, Dr. Kennedy, Jerry Allen, Denise Roberts and Karen Perry.
