Elbert Milton Craig, age 91, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Elbert was born on May 4, 1924 to Leonard Basil Craig and Lelier Mae Lindsey Craig in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Elbert was from the Sandy Hook community where he attended Sandy Hook Church of Christ. He was an equipment operator for thirty-seven years at Stauffer before retiring. Elbert was well liked by everyone and would lend a hand to anyone.
The family will visit with friends on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee with Webb Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
Elbert is survived by wife Katie D. Craig; sons Alton Craig and Charles Craig, Sr.; grandsons Austin Craig Butler, Chris Craig, Charles (Maggie) Craig Jr., Chad (Autumn) Craig, and Kyle Craig; great-granddaughter Tiffany (Jamie) Brashears; great great-granddaughters Coraline Brashears and Joelie West; and brother Gene (Carolyn) Craig.
Elbert was preceded in death by grandson Jason Craig; sisters Janette Renfro and Madeline McKennon; and brothers Leonard Craig, Richard “Dick” Craig, and Bill Craig.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Craig, Chad Craig, Chris Craig, Austin Craig Butler, Danny Wood, Gaylon Wood, and Andy Craig.
Honorary Pallbearers are members of Sandy Hook Church of Christ and Nathan McKennon.
The family would like to give a special thanks to MRMC 3rd floor nurses and Caris Hospice nurses for their excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sandy Hook Church of Christ.
