Elba Thigpen Priest

Mrs. Elba Noreen Thigpen Priest, 86, a resident of Highland Avenue in Columbia died January 9, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital

Funeral services for Mrs. Priest will be conducted Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Andy Brown, Curtis Dowdy and Johnny Mack Young officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Killen, Alabama native was the daughter of late William Clinton and Idella McGee Thigpen and the widow of Elmer Lee Priest. Mrs. Priest was a retired seamstress from Edrick/Publix Manufacturing. She was an avid gardner, enjoyed traveling and her family. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sisters, Lucy Goode and Martha Jack Wesley both of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Artie Treptau, Elizabeth Slagle, Eva Poland, Ora Graham and Opal Mayberry.

Pallbearers will be Gary Poland, Danny Poland, Don Mayberry, Mike Frakes, Tom Johnson and Jim Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. J. Cummins Couch, III and employees of Sterling House.

Memorials may be made to the Highland Church of Christ Building Fund, 397 E. James Campbell Blvd, Columbia, TN 38401.
