Effie D. Inmon

Effie D. Inmon, a beloved member of the Loretto, Tennessee community, passed away on May 1st, 2024, at NHC Scott. Born on October 5th, 1934, to the late Edward Hall and Fannie Bell Lawson Hall Haddock White in Iron City, Tennessee, Effie's life was marked by devotion, resilience, and service.

Effie was a cornerstone of her community, having owned and operated her own small grocery store, Inmon’s Market, for several years of her life. Later, she dedicated herself to Murray Incorporated until her well-deserved retirement. However, her professional endeavors were only a part of her story.

A lifelong member of Leoma Church of Christ, Effie's faith was central to her being. She found solace and strength in her daily readings of the Bible, feeling the presence of the Lord in her soul with each turn of the page.

In her later years, Effie remained remarkably active, participating in the Senior Olympics with fervor. Her competitive spirit shone brightly as she excelled in Shuffleboard, Basketball, and Bowling, determined to claim the gold.

Beyond her personal pursuits, Effie's heart overflowed with compassion for others. She volunteered tirelessly at hospitals and nursing homes, spreading warmth, smiles, and comfort to those in need. Her selflessness and generosity touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on her community.

In her leisure time, Effie found joy in piecing together memories and preserving them in scrapbooks, a testament to a life well-lived and filled with cherished moments.

Effie's legacy of faith, resilience, and service will be carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her sons: Ken (Anita) Inmon, Phillip (Lisa Barnett) Inmon, and Tracy (Rhonda) Inmon; grandchildren: Greg Inmon and Greta McElhaney; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Rufus Ford Hall and Peggy Smith, along with several nieces and nephews.

Effie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin L. "Buster" Inmon; her brothers: Fulton Hall, Waylon Hall, and Herbert Haddock, Jr; and her infant sister: Omie Dee Hall.

As we bid farewell to Effie, we take comfort in the knowledge that she has heard the words she longed to hear: "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23). Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
