Mr. Edwin D. Knowles, 51, a resident of 1st Ave. in Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, March 11, 2004 in Alabama .

Funeral services for Mr. Knowles will be conducted Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Brother Charlie Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family visited with friends Saturday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral service.

The Maury County native was the son of Helen Hall Knowles and the late Ernest W. Knowles. He was a self employed maintance worker, former employee of the City of Mt. Pleasant, supervisor for South Down, maintance for Pleasant Manor Apartments and worked for Spontex. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #610 of Mt. Pleasant and served in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Gary M. Knowles of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Teri Bobby Nolen of Summertown and Sandra Doug Burns of Columbia; two aunts, Thelma Rush of Mt. Pleasant and Mary Sue Hall of Murfreesboro; a niece, Beth Marie Jim T. II Hamilton of Columbia; a nephew, Michael Christina Knowles of Columbia; two great nephews, John Travis Hamilton and Zackary M. Knowles, both of Columbia and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Thomas N. Edwards, Mike Knowles, William ?Bill? Cocke, Bobby Nolen, Robert West and Robert Perry Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Creeke, Stan Rogers, Bill Lovell, William ?Bill? Love, and Bobby Gene West.
