Edward Tingley

Edward Tingley, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, TN went to be with Jesus on January 13, 2014. He was the husband of Betty Hutchinson Tingley for 39 years and the father of Nicole (Charles) Colp.; Papa to Logan, Kyleigh, and Erik; brother of Charles (Carolyn) Tingley, Nancy (Robert) Roan of Marshall, IL. Ruth Ann (Gregory) Jennings of Janesville, IA, and Susie Tingley of Marshall, IL; brother-in-law of Patsy Tingley of Paris, II; son of the late Edward and Louise Tingley; and late step-brother of Donald Tingley. Ed was like a brother to James and Sherry Olerich of Waterford, MI and Uncle to Timothy (Andrea) Jennings of Denver, IA, Andrew Tingley of Pontiac, MI, John Babcock of Marshall, IL and Thomas (Melanie) Jennings of Samamanist, WA. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

Ed was a graduate of Marshall, IL Class of 1961. He was in the Marines from 1961-65. Ed was a member of American Legion Post 19 and Workman Lodge 610, of Al Menah Shrines of Nashville, TN, Mt. Pleasant Country Club, USBC Bowling of Columbia, TN, UAW Local 1853, and a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle association. Ed loved working for General Motors and retired from Saturn after 39 years. He later worked at Dixie Oaks Golf Course. Ed was an avid golfer and bowler for 48 years.

There will be a celebration of life at Mount Pleasant First United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at 202 South Main St. Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474. Officiating will be Rev. Phillip Wright and Rev. Gary Wedgewood. Memorials may be made to the Maury County Community Christmas Card Program, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, or Faith Works of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
